Detention of journalists in the provinces is worrying

The Afghan Independent Journalists Union has expressed concern over the arrest of Habibullah Sarab, the independent reporter of Ariana TV in Paktia, Jan Agha Saleh and Faqir Mohammad Faqirzai, the reporters of Kilid Radio in Nangarhar, and once again requests the authorities in Paktia and Nangarhar provinces to open the cases related to Do the work of journalists in the Commission for Handling Complaints and Handling Media Violations, which is the only legal authority for handling the problems of journalists.
Although the reason for the arrest of three journalists in Paktia and Nangarhar has not yet been determined, the AIJU believes that the arrest of journalists weakens the freedom of expression and demotivates journalists in Afghanistan.
