Ezez Radio Launches Trial Broadcasts in Helmand Province

A new private radio station named Ezez Radio has launched its trial broadcasts in Helmand province on the 91.3 FM frequency.

According to the station’s management, official broadcasts will begin soon, and they are working to expand their coverage beyond the city of Lashkargah to several districts across the province.

Based on information from the Afghan Independent Journalists Union (AIJU), the launch of Ezez Radio brings the total number of active private media outlets in Helmand to 12 of which 11 are radio stations and one is a private television channel.

This development comes despite ongoing economic challenges and technical difficulties. It is seen as a positive step toward the continued growth of media in the province and the promotion of freedom of expression.
