UNAMA’s political services chief, Scott Smith, met with the officials of organizations that support the media and journalists.

Officials of Afghanistan National Union of Journalists, Afghanistan Journalists and Journalists Union, Afghanistan Free Journalists Union, NI – Supporter of Afghanistan Free Media and Galax Media Group participated in this meeting. In this meeting, the current situation of the media in the country was discussed. Officials of media supporting organizations talked about the general situation of the media community, challenges, the international community’s support mechanism for Afghan media and other important issues in this field. Scott Smith, head of UNAMA’s political affairs in Afghanistan, praised the activities of media supporting organizations in Afghanistan and promised that they will support the media and journalists considering the needs of the media community.
